Scrap metal can be any metal appliance or product that is not in use. The metal needs to be either discarded or recycled.
At Sydney Metal Traders, buy the metal from you and offer to pick up if the volume of metal you have to sell meets the criteria for free pick up. We know that not all items you have are completely made of metal. Things such as automotive components, building supplies, or leftover project materials are all bought by Sydney Metal Traders. We deal with scrap metal from commercial and domestic applications.
The items are valued in terms of the metal that they contain. The first stage of the process starts when people call us to inform us that they have some items they want to have salvaged. We then talk to the customers and arrange a visit or guide them by phone on how to estimate the weight of the items and list down the things they will be disposing of.
Once we have picked up the material or gotten the customer to drop it off, we sort it out and take out the metal parts in the item. These metal parts are then sorted and weighed, and the value of the metal is given to the customer at the competitive market price.
One of the ways that we sort the metal at Sydney Metal Traders is to determine whether the metal is ferrous or non-ferrous. It takes a magnet to determine the difference. Ferrous metals cling to the magnet while others don’t.
Do note that non-ferrous scrap metals are the most valuable for recycling, such as copper, brass, Aluminium, zinc, magnesium, tin, lead, and nickel. Ferrous metals tend to be less valuable to metal recyclers.
We Won't Take
Due to concerns about the safety of our customers as well as our employees, Sydney Metal Traders does not accept certain dangerous substances. For example, we will not take products that are corrosive, explosive or radioactive. We also prohibit other materials, such as asbestos, flammable liquids, gas bottles, poison, non-metallic refuse and bio-waste.
